LibreOffice is a free and open-source office productivity software suite, a project of The Document Foundation. It was forked in 2010 from OpenOffice.org, an open-source version of the earlier StarOffice. LibreOffice consists of programs for word processing (Writer), spreadsheets (Calc), presentations (Impress), vector and flowchart drawings (Draw), database management (Base), and formula editing (Math).
It uses the ISO/IEC standard OpenDocument format as its native file format.
